Wilson v Commissioner Of Police For The Metropolis & National Police Chief's Council

The Claimant sought an order for costs relating to two applications by the Defendants dated 23rd June 2017 and 25th June 2018 respectively.

The Tribunal found that whilst it was prepared to proceed on the assumption that jurisdiction exists to award costs, it should only be exercised "in rare cases which are highly unusual". They were not persuaded that the circumstances of this case met those criteria, therefore costs were not awarded. The Tribunal also stated that the question whether it has jurisdiction to award costs at all may have to be considered in the future in an appropriate case after full argument.
